ps: don't give money to Tim Schafer please, stop perpetuating shit behavior in the industry. this is seriously why companies like EA still make money.
If you think mis-managed money is "shit behavior" in the industry... hooo boy, I have stories for you. Unless you're talking about the 3.3mil needed to fund the. If thats the case, then EA is no where near what Doublefine is doing. Do you want to guess how much it cost SkullGirls devs, Lab Zero Games, to add Squigly?
If you're interested in the breakdown, you can read this REALLY good article written about it
here. (warning, this is skullgirls we're talking about. So anatomically oversized... hair. Yea. Hair.)
These things cost money. They're asking for 3.3mil from the community, and presumably 3 times that from their other investors (I'm making a HUGE guess on that, btw). A 12million dollar budget is pretty normal, as I understand things. Witcher 3 was what, a few hundred? Fallout 4 more than 12mil? There is two limiting resources in gamedev: Time and money. You don't have a lot of money? You don't have a lot of time. More money, gets you more time to pay everyone.
If you're going to say why you don't want someone to support Psychonauts 2, a game that MANY people want to see, then you need to explain your reasoning better than "Because it's as bad as EA" or "keep telling yourself that." Those are opinions and the tone you're conveying is rude. Opinions are not facts. If you want to sway someone's view, you back it with facts.
