Problem with Steam ID

As you see in the top right of my post, it doesnt show my steam id correctly. In my profile, as steam ID i have "nless" (NameLess was taken already ), and thats my profile:

Can anybody tell me what i did wrong? Also, an explanation directly in the profile where you have to put it in would be nice.

try using your STEAM ID number instead of the name of your steam id name.

i meant the actual STEAM_ID:0:XXXXXX number. id give that a shot, it could work.

Were you using [noparse]http://steamcommunity.com/id/nless[/noparse] or just nless
It's supposed to be the latter.

Try setting it back to just nless so we can see what error that gives.

I guess i cant do anything more than removing the id from my profile, this error code doesnt make my posts prettier. Thanks anyway for your help

It doesn't work for some people because, your keyboard doesn't have Unicode -8 or how was it called.. I had the same problem with my 3 year old Chicony keyboard, now i bought Logitech Media keyboard and everything works..

I got it, i had my state written in my steam profile, which contains the letter "ü", and your system seems to have problems with that, so i removed it.

Your name and a bunch of numbers should pop up. Copy the text STEAM_ID :0:<numbers>

(Thats your Steam ID )

It would be good if this explanation were on the Edit profile page.

It works with steam ID (STEAM_0:1:123456), 64 bit profile ID (/profile/6846821508646853) and community URL (/id/cameron_d/) I thought.

An important thing to note is that depending on the game your steamid changes. In CSS its often like Steam_0:0:xxxx (which is in my case) and in tf2 that would be Steam_0:1:xxxx. That could make some diffirence also.

What I read somewhere is that non-standard characters (bascially anything that is not on your keyboard) can stuff the profile XML up.

Yeah it was something like that. I had the state i live in my steam profile, which is "Baden-Württemberg", so that made it not work
