Prefered stair angles?

I usually do the 2:3 (rise:run) ratio stairs. They're more compact and not too steep.

I have to roll my eyes at all the grid comments. The grid is variable. You can change it for a reason: some parts of a map are easier done on a different size.

how can they end up looking tiny?? if they do it's because you've picked a bad multiple to work with. 2:3 fits nicely into 8:12 which is probably the biggest you wan't steps to be.

I like stairs that look like a human foot could fit on a single step.

Mine are 10 inches (american size 11 usually) + shoe.

Stairs in real life (yes I have done carpentry) are (generally) 12 inches deep and 8 high.
The old house converted to shop I work at that has STEEP stairs is 10x8.
