The update logs made me realize what the "still alive" song is about.
...Or at least come up with a theory of what it could be about.

GlaDOS is not still alive, at least the version 1.07a isn't. But there's another one somewhere, a backup, the version 3.11, probably in the borealis or something. GlaDOS 3.11 is the one who sang the song.
And 1.07a was a part of the test too, and it was meant to be destroyed for 3.11 to discover its faults and how to make herself better.

lol, this is the reason I like Valve. I can't say I'm upset with anything they've done LATELY. Besides, if this is a hint to some kind of sequel then I can't wait. I haven't been able to play Portal, but the time and effort that people put into both making this and finding out what it is is just fascinating.

Portal was a highly acclaimed game, so I think they are trying to do as much to make it "perfect" as they are trying to make people anticipate it more.
