Well, clipping and optimizing sorta done.
I am so burned out from mapping now, been at it for 10 hours/day for the past 3 days. ALL FOR YOU PEOPLE WHOM I DON'T EVEN KNOW IN PERSON!

No screenshots today, because well... a picture of a playerclip is not very exciting.

Plans for tomorrow: Make something happen on winning/losing stage 3. Maybe a boom, or a zap... who knows, might even create a fwoompah-fwoompah!

my entdata is almost at 100% too ... should I start getting nervous? I love the bridge thing idea though!

i brought cashworks down to 98%, when it was above 100%, 32 man servers crashed due to the "no free edicts" error

the error basically means that source can´t handle all the entities in your map

the error gets worse when valve releases new updates, because hats and new weapons also count es such (feel free to correct me if i´m wrong)

try to keep it beneath 100, it might work with more, but let me tell you, it´s a b**** having to cut away details and entites like path_track and such

I had the edicts error back in a4 I think. I'll be sure to stress test with bots before release, thanks for reminding me ;)

Having over 100% in itself should not ba a problem.

Edicts is odd. I used to use mostly prop_dynamic for my props when I was a hammer newbie and I'd crash easily with that error. prop_static allows for a ton more to be used.

From what I read in the past a high entdata isn't necessarily going to crash your map. It's basically just the amount of text/definitions in your entities, so it just tells you there are a ton of entities in the map (not which types). If you have too many of a certain type it will crash (spotlight entiites, prop_dynamics are notably expensive and not that many can be used). There's a list of the limits on each entity type somewhere, but I don't remember where it is.

I spawned 31 demoman bots (+me, total of 32).
Shot 8 stickies, then spammed pipes while standing by the locker (fast reload!), It didn't crash so I will assume its safe.

God damn if the fps wasn't terrble though!

You should have Snipers throwing Jarate in perfect unison. That would be a beauty.

I'm exhausted, past week was THE most hellish mapping task ever. I foolishly started detailing stage 3, and since I hate leaving things unfinished I HAD to continue, forcing myself to map for many more hours than I normally would.

I've learned a lot from entering this contest. Initially I was not going to put any serious effort into this project, but seeing other people work hard to make their ideas work I somehow got inspired. With Panic I had lots of oppurtunity to try new things (lighting, particle editing, modeling, entities I normally wouldn't touch).

Panic is just entering beta. It is NOT final yet. Keep posting your feedback, it's been essential to the progress I've made so far.
