Overlook - A small king of the hill map with mirror symmetry.

Overlook is a small king of the hill map with mirror symmetry, where two towers overlook the control point. I stopped working on this map almost a year ago, and only picked it up again yesterday.

This is my first Team Fortress 2 map.

  • Reverted to developer textures

  • Raised the main spawn doors onto a platform
  • Moved spawnrooms forward
  • Added a one-way shutter door to the spawns' flank route entrances
  • Closed off connecting route from the buildings next to the control point/battlements to the flank route

  • Flank route shortened to the buildings next to the control point and tunnel

I did not realize that the time to cap would be twice that of which I entered into the capture area's parameter field, meaning I had changed it from not 12 to 8 seconds but 24 to 16 previously. The capture time should now be 12 seconds.

  • Moved spawnrooms backwards
  • Added slight cover for sightlines into team's bases and spawn

Beta 1

This is my first time detailing a map. No window/light props yet and almost all lights are still regular light entities.

  • Replaced brush spawn shutter doors with windowed prop doors
  • Expanded most doorways horizontally and vertically
  • Added areaportals to bases, towers, and buildings next to the control point
  • All lights are now about half as bright and slightly less colorful
  • Removed battlements signs from bases
  • Wide side path one-way window shutter door is now thinner...
