I can agree, all that "expert" mode really is making it seem like your character is made out of wet paper and to remove any chances of finding first aid kits besides from the safe rooms. For some (like myself, I admit), I find the tense feeling of being able to lose half your health with one mistake to warrant it being called "expert" mode, but I can emphasize how some people don't find that fun.

I'm just going to repeat some of the sentiments that get buried every so often - I have to say I wasn't impressed with the L4D demo when it came out, because after a week of so my friends and I could beat it on expert without even blinking. However, once the game was released, we had our hineys handed to us on a silver platter when we tried to do the entire No Mercy campaign on expert the first time we did it. The demo, due to it's short nature, will seem easy compared to the actual real game.

A demo, while it is supposed to give a good indication of the game, shouldn't also give away the best parts of the game either. It should be there for people to sample the gameplay and get an idea. Odds are, if you're even remotely interested in the game from the demo, you will probably end up buying it.

As well, even is AI or damage is the same on realism, I do think that it'll be exceptionally harder than normal play. Not being able to see your teammates will cause a lot of pressure and require a lot of communication to stop people from dying or getting mauled by zombies.

F U :D This game is full of win. !!! I liked the co-op in the demo. Expert is 2 hard for me :p but advanced is perfect

This post contained about as much intelligence as the steam forums. Please look up what the word "debate" means :(

I'm not cutting down your opinion, I'm just asking you to provide more than just an opinion.

Here's something I posted in another forum regarding the demo.

Getting bored with the demo might have something to do with there only being two levels, and both of those levels being the most bland levels in the game(the only unique aspect is the tower crescendo event.), the demo missing a few of the most revolutionary weapons(chainsaw&grenade launcher), and the difficulty being low even on expert because of the extra health packs, it is daytime so you hardly ever use your flashlight, and the fact that you find the more powerful weapons as early as the second level. To top it all off, there is no versus either.

So, to list all the things the demo DOESN'T include that will be in the full version- Versus Mode, Realism Mode, Survival Mode, Scavenger Mode, 5 full length campaigns, dynamic weather effects, nighttime/dark levels, both wandering and stationary witches, all the new weapons, all the survivor lines, different style finale events(think running across a bridge while being bombed), and dynamic routes(like shortcut you take in one game but the next it's barred up with plywood or a fence).

I found the melee weapons made me go "Hmm, should I, or not" When I found one, trading for my dual pistols. And the desert eagle is great.

Maybe it should have been just an expansion though.

I played through the demo solo, so I wasn't expecting knocks-your-socks-off gameplay. I was however comparing the experience against playing L4D1 solo, and all told it was very nearly the exact same game. If anything, L4D1 comes across as the superior experience, because it definitely sells the "zombie apocalypse" theme in the visuals and sounds. The L4D2 demo's daylight setting and twangy banjo music really pull me out of the mood.

There was something about the lighting, music, zombies, etc, that just made the whole game feel comical. I played through the demo once, and I was pretty disgusted with the whole thing. It felt like it was a joke (not in difficulty, but this feeling of lack of polish compared to the first game). The melee weapons seemed pretty stupid, since I could just keep one of my pistols. The new weapons didn't seem to differ too much. And for some reason, the controls felt really screwy, though I have been playing a lot of borderlands lately. Still, overall I'm not sure I should have purchased this game. Hopefully versus, with friends only, will make it worth while.

Man, I so want to pick it up now, but I'm horribly broke at the moment.

If just because the jukebox is awesome and plays Re: Your Brains. (And summons a Horde at the "And as a FYI: You'll all die screaming" line.)

Does that really play? That's awesome.

Personally I found the demo a bit disappointing at first, but then I realised that it was the censored version. The gameplay is good, and the whole thing feels a bit awkward. But it's supposed to feel uneasy, because it's designed to keep you moving and keep you on your toes. The mood of it appeared to have been destroyed, and the horror aspect significantly weakened. You shouldn't really see it as a $50 improvement on l4d, but a different version you could buy instead.
