Hammer grid size problems

Whenever I try to re-size the brushes(?) it changes the grid length to 1-2 instead of 32-64. This makes it awfully hard to construct even the basics of my map. Anyone who knows the source of this problem?

You might not have snap to grid turned on. Go to the menu "Map"->"Snap to Grid" or press Shift-W to toggle this.
