Hammer default texture loadup

    Okay, I know this is knit-picking, but I am hoping there is something I can do to about it.

    Basically, When I load up hammer and then a map(doesn't matter which one) ther default texture is this stupid ambulance and it's kind of annoying to change it every time I open hammer. So what I was wondering is.. if it is possible so that when hammer loads up, if I can have another default texture load up instead of this damn thing:

    Or at least make it so none of the HL2/HL textures show up or no texture bigger than 1024x1024. I'm sure there has to be some way or another.

    I hate it too, but I think it's just alphabetical.

    Idea: Extract a copy of the nodraw VMT (with those special compile flags in it) and the hammer preview image.

    Rename the copies (and edit the VMT) so you have an "/aaa-dev/aaa-Nodraw" material as your first item on the list each time.

    If you accidentally use it in place of nodraw and don't pack it into the map... who would notice? :D

    What would be nice is to be able to save the current maps in the texture applicator, so you have all of your fave textures (or all the ones in the current map) already there. It is a tad annoying selecting the face to get the texture.

    It's nothing new. Even before the ambulance texture there was that terrible hl2 brown brick texture as default. I didn't see anyone complain much about that so I dont get the fuss about it now either :p

    There is a "only used textures" checkbox in the browser, which I think would do something like you want...

    Well.. I don't think i noticed that brick texture as much as i do the ambulance for some reason. Not sure why, but i do remember what your talking about, it just never stood out as much if you accidentally made a brush with that texture. Lol I would love for it to load up with nodraw!! =D
