    I've recently made a 3D skybox which works fine with the stuff I put in it except for the fact I can see my whole map in the skybox...

    Also, do the pine tree models not work with fade distance? I set them to gradually fade however they instantly pop in and out of being rendered.

    The skybox thing sounds like you might have a camera in the wrong place or with the wrong data. On the other hand, that could be kind of neat, watching the game at sixteen times the original size as you take part in it.

    Is your skybox a seperate box but you still see the whole map and you skybox? Then one of those has a leak.

    If you see just your map and not the skybox you probably placed the skybox entity in the map and not in the skybox.

    My sky box is a small box with a sky camera in it.

    When I look out into the "void" I see the skybox models and my whole map.

    it sounds like you only compiled bsp/fullbright without vis&rad
    compile with vis&rad on fast and the floating island in the sky that is a mirror of your map should disappear

    It was a full compile.

    Full bsp, vvis, and vrad.

    You probably made a sky cam, then cloned it as the tuts said and moved it out into the skybox, but left the original camera at 0,0,0.

    Original cam deleted already. That was the first thing I looked into.
