    One thing I've never gotten straightened out—does Source 2 employ any precomputed lighting, or is it all real-time? Because VRAD being the best damn precomputed lighting engine of all time is a big, big part of why CS:GO still looks as good as it does. Without it, environments are always going to feel slightly fake in an uncanny valley sort of way.

    Source 2 still uses lightmaps for static lights
