i have no examples  but would be nice to top the amount of handy models TF2maps has to offer.

Control Point models, i'm kinda bored with the old one and would be nice to have a selection of different Control Points, only problem is i have no clue what to suggest for an example.
i'm clueless when it comes to making models and have no idea where to start and would probably take me yonks to make and figure out.
I know Shmitz made a pretty nifty Model but i think thats for the likes of CTF Capture Point maps where you have to Cap the flag to advanced to the next point and it a tad small for what i'm after.
Im just really after something totally different but sits well with TF2 Style.
not desperate but something for future model/models pack if anyone has some spare time.

ta peeps ;)

I think we don't need more than one control point model, multiple models would probably just confuse players. Different points for ctf/cp/pl are fine because they're different gamemodes.

Oh, I wouldn't say that. Different models could work, so long that it was obvious that it's the control point. When you saw your first CP, didn't you immediately know what it was?

Oh, and you'd need a place for the hologram, too.

You're going to need a place for my fist!

I agree, more CPs would be nice. Payload has a dozen different carts, certain CTF maps have custom flags, why not custom control points?

was thinking along the lines of just a few different styles to what we have now, also i think if you use the same custom model for each CP through out the map it shouldent be that confusing.

wish i had some examples it would be so much easier to explain

Wouldn't it be a lot easier just to have a Tree Model that could fit a Control Point on it? (I'm imagining a big, flat stump no?) and the only Custom Control Points I've seen were in permuda, they sounded like a lot of work for the small aesthetic they added..

I could see some variations that maintained the basic idea of the original- metal, circular, glowy bit in the middle- while varying the appearance to better fit the surroundings.

Like that one CP map with the tree stump control point.

like a big tree stump! That'd work well with swamp.

I'm picturing a stump with a rough hole in the middle, maybe a foot across, with a bare light bulb inside that changes color when the point is capped. And maybe flickers a bit. And the "control point" label is either spraypainted on or branded in.

The current circular style would be VERY easy to replicate. Just a nice little platform shape and a lathe. Heck, they could share skins.
