"we have determined that your map doesn't comply with the rules for CTF game mode, and is therefore disqualified"
and rule was: "MAP WILL BE SCORED ON TOTAL FLAG CAPS PER TIME - NOT FIRST TO NUMBER OF CAPS. Remember this when designing your layouts."

my map was still about giving points for flags captured in a given time tho but I don't know, maybe there's more to it

I guess it's because it relied more on the timer than the flag caps but I'm not sure. :/

The map looks awesome, one thing you may want to fix -

Once you're in, you can't get out ;)

I uhh... I really don't know what to say.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/98931/videos/omgwhat.avi

I recorded that on B1, but I just checked B2 and it still happens. It seems like graphics card failure... but those usually result in more random texture replacement, not perfect exchange of the same type of texture into different color versions of them. Plus any maps I load before/after it are fine, and it still does it after restarting and such.

But since nobody else has reported such, I guess it's just me. Perhaps I'll investigate further sometime.

wow booj, this is trippy

I think I understand what's going on here. you see, these concrete textures use the same vtf but their vmfs have different $color parameter (which colors the base material). for some reasons, the graphic card seems "confused" about the 2 material using the same base texture.
not sure what could cause a graphic card to have trouble handling this. maybe a naming convention of some sort :\ i dunno
you're the very first person to experience this that I've heard of. can you tell what graphic card you are using?

EDIT: kinda strange. the vdc doesn't report any compatibility issues with the $color parameter
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/$color

can you do me a favor and make sure your drivers are up to date?

This map crashes clients.

When you go in to overtime, the announcer starts the crazy OVERTIME OVERTIME OVERTIME, then when one of the flags timers runs out, clients are crashed. When it plays, I love it, and the game mode. However, seeing as it is broken, and disqualified, can we get it removed from the server?

The objective system is not based on number of caps, but a survival system.

I feel that it was unfair to DQ this map based on the scoring system: It doesn't break any rules. The winner is still the "most caps in time" not "First to number"

However, it is fair to DQ it because of the crashing in overtime bug.

I'd like more information on why this was disqualified... I had high hopes for it

I haven't been informed myself. but at this point I don't really care. I swallowed the pill...
and actually, I'd say I take more pride than shame in my disqualification.
seeing everyone doing the "right" choice by dropping their custom game modes was really an horrifying sight

The objective system is not based on number of caps, but a survival system.

this is a common misconception on the map.
when you look at it, a round of cesspool is no different than a round in turbine.
you start with a timer and when that timer ends, whoever has more caps wins.
both map plays the same really.
except for some elements I added (spawn time regulation, time extensions and stuff.. nothing that was against the rules to my knowledge tho)

the "survival" element comes from the fact that cesspool has really short rounds (which is not against the rules to my knowledge). this was an attempt at making defense a viable option for anyone who's in the lead.

I feel that it was unfair to DQ this map based on the scoring system
don't say my map got unfairly judged. I got disqualified for unknown reasons (i.e. youme running through the map sayin "NO!")
It wasn't because of the scoring system (me thinks)

However, it is fair to DQ it because of the crashing in overtime bug.

crashing the server wasn't against the rules either
