OK, how's this: Instead of a constant run speed increase, he gets the ability to airblast himself forward. Not as fast as the regular airblast pushes enemies, but enough to let him catch up to enemies who have gotten just out of range if he uses it quickly enough. It would have the same cost as the normal airblast, and explain why he can't airblast the normal way: the compressed-gas vent is mounted in backwards.

EDIT: Alternate option! Instead of propelling the player forward, holding mouse2 while firing boosts the range of the flames 30% or so, at the cost of doubling the ammo expenditure per second. Either one would complement the Backburner's purpose nicely.

I wonder if they'd ever consider testing out the Beta Tranquilizer and seeing if it can finally be put into the game, given that the "drugged" mechanic wouldn't be too far removed that what they're starting to do with this batch of beta experiments.

hm..... This might work.

The Medic Quick fix on the other hand, that would be a welcomed item to my medic tools.

I'm still not sure how useful the Quick Fix will actually be. While it may be fine for assisting the team in coordinated pushes when you're backed up by everyone, a big part of playing medic is the ability to completely disrupt enemy pushes, and I think the Quick Fix may not be as successful at doing that than the Medigun or the Kritzkrieg. The medic is much more vulnerable during the quick heal charge than they are during a kritz since it's easier for the kritzed player to defend their medic since they have additional firepower.

I've actually run in to situations where a Quick-fixed teammate takes about three to four times as long for even a sentry to kill under continuous fire.

The quick-fix is actually really well done. It's like being ubered, but you get the uber faster. The trade off is that you can still die, but usually just to backstabs or headshots. Pretty great medigun honestly.

Coming from a MMO backround, thi looks like a great tool. Back in Guild Wars, we had tanks that were like having ubers and they were good, but limited to what they could tank (Shadow Form Tanks if you want to look it up)...

The more useful tanks were those that got max HP regen, THOSE did really well. Me and friends made up a team build that used them.

I really hope they aren't considering using this version of the Backburner. Although the airblasts cost 50 ammo and the back-crits are nerfed from 15% to 10%, the fact that one gets ANY CP ability out of the Backburner turns them into a killing machine, because in all honesty, you'll be killing people left and right with this thing, and if you can't reflect something with four blasts, you're dead anyway.
