The exact nature of the Jungle Update is difficult to predict. On the one hand it will include new maps, which usually accompany substantial content and gameplay changes, but it will also include new hats, which usually accompany dick-all. Whatever does end up happening, in my opinion, will definitely not be related to the comics, as up until this point the ongoing comic series has not tied into the game in any significant way.

People had some slightly reasonable guesses as to what it was for, like a model that comic creators could use to base their line art off of, but that doesn't make much sense- way too detailed.

He could appear in an SFM short that explains the current ingame events, as they did with previous shorts.

I think the last issue could tie into a future update, as this has happened before with the whole Mann vs. Machine and Gray Mann thing.

It's always possible but it seems like the TF2 team and the comics team/the SFM team kinda each do their own things so I wouldn't count on that.

The Scout voice actor said he went in to record some lines back in maybe September (or maybe someone who visited Valve saw him there, I can't remember which) and there hasn't been any new lines for the character since July so I hope they did the lines for a new SFM short but you never know, it could of just been for content that was delayed (or scrapped).

Can I just add, by the way, how happy I am that the TF2 team actually still bothers to release patch notes for all their updates? Lookin' at you, CSGO team.

This sounds weird but my favorite part of every update is the update page. I was disappointed in both the christmas update and halloween update not having pages- but I understand that they take a lot of time! Believe me, the art and formatting doesn't look easy. That's why I have so much respect for members that create pages for community events like winter wonderland

I miss the update videos too ala. the Meet The videos
The Frontline update was really impressive for me in the regard that they did a video for it, even though they didn't have to.

Please remember that Frontline is a community project, not an actual update itself. It's pitching the idea of a war themed update to Valve and the player base, but it's not an official update ran by Valve.

Ah yeah, forgot about that.
I hope Valve have a video lined up for the next upcoming update though.

Now that you bring it up, I want to know if they ever wrote more episodes of the series that "Expiration Date" was going to be part of before they remembered that they can't meet a deadline for beans, and if they'll ever make any of them into videos.
