Devil's Brew
you'll get so drunk, you'll swear the control points are moving!
("don't worry, you're not THAT drunk, the control point DID move")

version 1.0
now available in new strawberry beta flavour

----
this is a map i'm working on, and most likely will submit to the ETF2 competition.

my basic decision here is a CP map, whose points have dynamic defenses.
more plainatively, the middle and 2ndary points move about 500 units towards the owner, and on the other side of a door(which only opens to let the CP move past).

the name comes from the design direction i plan to take: i.e. 2 breweries, in an industrial area, attempting an aggressive takeover bid of eachother.

and now some piccies:

got the layout built am detailing/texturing (mostly texturing)

off the play area on the red side i have a train depot situation, with one of those heavy duty freight cranes. i can't actually decide though what colour looks best for it:
red, grey, or white.
i've done mockups of each colour in this pic, and one pic of the crane in position.

what do you guys think?

I don't think it's good for that ETF2L competition. They want a competive map, not a gimmicky map :)

I question the gameplay mechanic's inherent worth...
Defenders of already taken points usually have a layout advantage. Making it a hard advantage via a moving point seems... inelegant.

Still, if you're sold on the mechanic, it'll be -interesting- to see it play out.

that's true - if the map is built in that way.

the moving points is to give the layout advantage to the owner.

i believe it can be a competitive play map, not considered a gimmicky map.

Looks really nice. Very nice brushwork. Will try a run through.

On point A, those brozne brewing tanks look kinda lonely and out of place. They need something more artistaclly to complement them. Maybe make one a giant tank and have the pipe running into it?

How about [AoC] gives your map a spin to see how well it will work in comp play, which in turn will help out pub play. Please check this out and see if this suits your needs.

Steam me (steam id: b_Mar_d) if your interested.
