Terraria 1.3 Update: Group playthrough

So tomorrow Terraria's 1.3 update releases. I'm hoping to get a group of people playing it, and it'd be nice if someone joining us was able to host a dedicated server for it (I would love to, but I can't as I can't port forward with my ISP), but if someone can't then it'll be Hamachi or whatever. I'm also assuming we'd be playing on fresh characters to make it more fun.

Anyway, any ideas/comments/joiners on this?

Edit:Edit:
Tiny update, I've managed to get a server hosted on my own connection so it won't be necessary for anyone else to host (ty though Matty) unless it ends up sucking total bumcheeks.

I would buy terraria just for this.
But can you be more spesific and maybe even include a timer?

I'm not entirely sure when we'll be playing as I'm not sure when it releases exactly on the 30th. We could say we play late on but then we miss time, or as soon as it starts (but then we miss players).

I think we should wait until the Mac and Linux versions are ready. So more players could join.

This is from their forums.
the plan is that Mac/Linux will launch shortly after 1.3 - aiming for a launch within the month of July.

I own Terraria but haven't played it much, for a long time. I actually have three gift copies left over from a four pack when it was on special offer if anyone would like to trade items of comparative value.

I don't mind serving as a host. My internet uprate is 1mbps.

I know this isn't the best place, but what would you want for a copy?

That'd be great if you could host for us, we're definitely in need of that (and I know a lot of people don't approve of Hamachi).

You can totally count me in on this :O

My work schedule will most likely limit the time I can play, so hosting is out of the question. Staying caught up won't be an issue though since I can pull resources from my other worlds if I have to.

I'd also like to point out that one of the included features will be Steam multiplayer integration, which will hopefully eliminate the need for Hamachi if it's peer-to-peer. We'll have to see the specifics when the update actually launches (unless it's written somewhere and I just haven't seen it).

EDIT: If this kicks off, do you think it would help to have a separate Steam group to announce when we play, like we do with imps?

That could help, I'll go ahead and set that up right now.

I've set one up right here now: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2mter2015

Imma try to join a game with my own friends, but if that falls through I might want to check this out....

Items of comparative value. It's currently £6.99 on Steam. If you send me £7 worth of stuff I will trade it.

Eh, at 1pm I'll be at work for another few hours, but you don't need to account for me if I'm the only one with a conflict.

Terraria is a long game, and we're starting on fresh characters so you'll likely not be far behind and we'll hopefully be going for quite a bit.
