So yeah, I'm an avid Tf2 player, and ever since I new about custom maps in Tf2 I wanted to design and make my own map. Sadly, I'm on a Mac, so Source SDK wasn't available to my platform till last year, but I only knew about it around 2 weeks ago.
Now, I still haven't completely installed Source SDK because I'm still not sure how to. Do I really need Github to install it? because Github is only available to OS X 10.7 or better(Lion and Mountain Lion) and I only have 10.6.8(Snow Leopard). What can I do? Thanks in advance.

Don't use source SDK. If you have TF2 installed, just go to your steam folder, then steamapps, common, Team Fortres 2, and then bin, and you will find the program hammer there.

Issue is, they're still on Mac. And Source does not like Mac.

I think they're referencing a SDK for TF2 that is on Mac. I've only heard of a couple projects about it, but don't know much more beyond that.

Anyways, hello! Welcome to the community! Perhaps there is someone here who can be of better help than myself.

I've tried that, but there's no file that could resemble Hammer.

Yeah, I sometimes hate having a Mac, for all the inconveniences that it brings, specially being one outdated.
But thanks for the welcoming! I'll be sure to post my map(s) once I get to install Source SDK/Hammer. Thanks anyways!

Are you running Mountain Lion or Mavericks? If you have either of those, you can go find an .iso of Windows 7 and install with a flash drive and Bootcamp. That's what I did on my Mac and it works great!

No, I only have Snow Leopard(10.6.8) and Mavericks is only available to the latest version of Mountain Lion, and I can't afford to upgrade my software. Thanks anyways

You have the same problem as me before, and sadly even bootcamp wouldn't always work, it becomes really laggy and crashes a lot of times, lucky for me a relative gave me their old PC which got me started.
