Oh, and on a final note, an excellent learning resource is the fact that Valve have released the vmf's of some of the more popular maps. Check out your SDK TF2 maps folder and look for vmf's named like sdk_ctf_2fort. You can go into the official maps and see how they did certain stuff. Bare in mind a lot of the stuff tends to be grouped so you might have to do some ungrouping to check out the entity work. Not to mention turning off the "tools" checkbox in the visgroups on your right so that you can navigate the environment easier.
As a fellow noob, I've gradually come to realize how incredibly useful it is to have official maps to study. Unfortunately, the selection of .vmf's available in hammer is rather meager. Fortunately, a great person have made all the other ones available for download here.
Nothing wrong with the orange, bold text. Whilst you might think Orange bold text is the worst aesthetic decision, I personally like and have nothing against.
