First off, here is some map changes.

gic1u.jpg

As you can see i have gotten rid of the balcony for now. At the time of making it the first time it was 3 in the mourning and i look back on it now and it makes me vomit.

I have also replaced the ramp with stairs, removed that metal machine in the corner and replaced it with a door.

Also angled the the corner of the hazard tape path.

Also added a new detail room near main point. The door ways seem kinda deep to me now, so i will change that later.

And now for this

This is the last "for the hell of it" prop i swear... for now.

How on earth does Saxton get all that Austrailium to fill up his pit around the main cap? Hard working men making an honest living? Of course not. Robots are the answer. With a little help from the Engineer, Saxton was able to mass produce these auto mining robots that more than fill his need for Austrailium nuggets.

And now photos,

To be honest this was my favorite model to make and animate ever, i had so much fun with it!

Thats all for now!

I hope you'll start detailing the rest of the map... You know, the final point is good looking right now, maybe you should start working on the rest of the map.
oh, and the robot is so cute! I love it!
But you might want to put him behind the hand rails, so that people won't get stuck at it, look at it, and won't move because his so fun to watch.
Put him in a little niche in the wall, it will also show that his progressing!
Keep up the great work!

Hey guys, i decided to dirty up the texture and add detail to the generator model seeing as it was bugging me.

While the generator is supposed to stick out as it is in the center of the room, and the largest prop in the room i think it was sticking out for all the wrong reasons. Two of those where the over phong shading and a super clean, base colors only texture. I went through and dirty-ed it up, added paint strokes and changed the tint of the reds and greys.

I think it fits in ALOT better now, the only thing i'm a bit iffy on is the yellow squares. Atm i don't know what to have there instead of them but i'm sure it will come to me latter.

Quick update again.

I think this fits a bit better than those computers.

The railing might be a bit of a issue gameplay wise but its easy to remove.

Copper wires.

I will try this out. I'm not sure if i will have enough time to do it today, but i will defiantly try it out and see what people think.

It all looks amazing! The only thing I can say is too many animated additions might not only be distracting, but might cost too much performance. I think it's all great though, keep up the good work!

It'd make sense to me, seeing as how that is a generator, right?

You are correct, it is a generator and it would make alot more sense then just yellow squares.

I thank you again, as i see the copper wire making alot more sense and looking alot more intresting then yellow squares!

I can't wait to see it. :D Your models so far are quite fantastic. I am quite envious of your skills. My only concern is how distracting the moving ones will be.

Edit: Post 500 woo...

Hey guys, just a quick question.

Does anything look wrong or off in the parts of the map i have posted so far? I got complaints from another forum of the map not looking right. I'm not sure on how to fix it, and was hoping to get some feedback from here seeing as this is the hub for tf2 map and model design!

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, actually. Your molten metal bucket doesn't have any hinges that would let it pour out without pouring over one of its supports.

The big round ones on the sides need to get rotated 90 degrees around the Z axis.

well from that very last image you posted

the weird rampy sticking out platform thing doesn't look like it has any purpose.

That's really all that doesn't look very right to me. The displacements that 'hold up' point C? From that screenshot it looks a bit oddly made, weird crease thing - and I don't feel it has the right texture either.

I like your models though :) All I can say is to maybe give them more wear and tear, but don't feel as though that opinion has any weight.

Holy crepes, your right! That platform doesn't really have any use. Can't believe I didn't see that before.

And with the displacements, i will fix it up. I see what you mean with the squared edges. I will see if i can find a better texture, if not i will make my own.

And thanks about the models! I will try to dirty up those models for ya!

Doesn't the platform work as a good sentry nest? It's a sufficient high ground for the room as well.

You are going to want to cover the railings with a brush textured with blockbullets. This prevents bullets going through them, blah blah blah.

Anyway, the last cp looks fine. KEEP GOING!!
