Mannsoon (1st Stage) A3

It's alpha 3 time!
A lot of the feedback from the last version that I got said that this map was overscaled - as such, some of the geometry has been adjusted so that some spaces aren't as open as they once were. I'm trying to think of other ways to down-scale the map without having to make massive cuts. If anyone wants to help me with that endeavor, please let me know ASAP.

Here's the full changelog:

  • Adjusted existing/added new geometry and clipping to try and mitigate more powerful sightlines
  • Pushed back the "tunnel" route to B
  • Added an additional room to the left side of A
  • Enclosed the right side route to the battlements
  • Removed the sliding door from the battlements
  • Tweaked Red's spawn room to make it less open/big
  • Added a few additional health and ammo packs
  • Removed most roof geometry from A (temporary aesthetic change)
  • Added additional props (aesthetic change)
  • Scaled down most textures (aesthetic change)

I really want to try and make the ship, aka the location of stage 2 - however, I'm not all that good with complex brush work, let alone trying to make an entire stage out of said brush work. If anyone wants to help me with that endeavor, please let me know ASAP.

After looking at some feedback, here's what's changed between A1 and A2:

  • Added a third route to the second control point, accessible from the battlements.
  • Added a small tower next to (and connected by) by the watchtower by the second control point.
  • Added clipping to the map's edges, as well as above all buildings.
  • Added health and ammo packs in various locations. (I'm admittedly not too good at placing these in good places, this will likely need to be adjusted again)
  • Added new textures to various locations.
  • Some new props were added, some affecting gameplay and some purely for decoration.
  • Added a giant "ship" in the water. I'm hoping to start constructing the location of the second stage, but making a freighter with suitable gameplay might prove to be a bit of a challenge.
  • Upon capturing the second point, a whistle will now play. This is purely for aesthetics, and will go alongside a bridge opening from the ship to the dock. Once again, purely aesthetic.

Special thanks to Pdan4 on the TF2Maps Discord for giving me the idea for the tower on the second point, since I am not very good at finding creative ways to fill empty space.

Apparently there are multiple maps called Cargo, so time for plan B.
This map will now be called Mannsoon!

...Get it? It's like Monsoon, but with Mann Co...
