Freezeezy Peak a1c
Freezeezy Peak recreated into Source for TF2!
Freezeezy Peak from Banjo-Kazooie, a cold world home to many, with a giant snowman looming over you with every move! What could possibly go wrong?
One of my more recent maps that I've been learning more of both blender and hammer with as a whole, with the first iteration planned to not have music notes or jiggies until they're nailed down. This map introduces a few new things that will be implemented into my other maps later on, such as random animations, shrinkwrapped skybox, and modified level mesh for walkable slopes.
Specific information for TF2Maps:
- A late upload, but the starting version will be a1c, as I'm content with the bugs I've been able to squish out before the next major version, a2. Happy (early) Holidays!
What does the map currently have?
- Entire layout of Freezeezy Peak done and included
- Custom background music and sound effects
- Custom particle effects
- Mumbo Tokens and Jinjos
- Bee hives and extra lifes for replenishable health, and feathers and eggs for replenishable ammo
What's left on the to-do list?
- Music Notes
- NPCs and Jiggys
- Mumbo's magic transformation animation
- Replayable races between both teams?
- Dedicated spawn room locations for both teams
- Snow that can actually work and be cheap to render
- Floor 6 of gruntilda's lair that has the world entrance
- Opening sequence animation of said world entrance
List of general mechanics that will appear in this and other BK maps of mine as well:
- Saved progress of specific collectables across maps (currently unimplemented, W.I.P.)
- Flight Pad launching players upward followed by temporarily increased air movement and mark for death (who would want to watch demos, soldiers, or heavies fall from the sky as they punch bullets into you?)
- Shock Jump Pad launching players upward with temporarily increased air movement
- Arrow-textured buttons on specific geometry for launching yourself up onto higher platforms
- Climbable specific slopes for when possible (Like the original)
- Custom jump pads for getting onto much higher platforms when originally impossible due to Flight Pad in the original
