[WIP] CP_impossiblevania

    hey, i started learning hammer a few days ago. and this is my first project ever using hammer. im not sure how it is, but its a start :)

    ((if your wondering why there's a CP inside the castle. well, look at the map name :p))


    oh and before i post any pictures. I need some help. not with mapping but with idea's. because i cant figure what i can put in the middle... well a CP is suppose to be there but need something else like a wall, or something!! help me out and comment please!

    Edit: added new pics.
    also. more mountains etc... stuff on the outside to make it look better coming soon aswell. but still. remember this is a WIP - work in progress map! ^^

    Last picture: half life 2 prop for the elevator, also, make it so the elevator moves on touch, or just at a certain delay, because pushing buttons or shooting them is not good for tf2.
    Also, your texture alignment, because there is ground dirt at the middle of a wall :p
    For the capture points, i suggest putting 1 in the both tops of castles, 1 in the bottom of the castles, and make a mini castle in the middle of the map, and put there the middle cap.

    yeah sounds good :p oh and about the elevator. it goes on touch. once it reaches the top, after 2-3seconds it goes down again and trigger is reset :p so its all np ^^

    but yeah. let me try make those cp in the castle :)

    The thing you have to worry about the most would be that all the texture are the same, no variation :(

    yeah i know... thats what im trying to figure out...

    Edit:
    iv now made the middle part, still not 100% done but. its there now :)

    and im planning on making a small boat, go around the water. 2boats actually ^^ and once the boat reach a certain point, the gate goes up ^^ (WIP)

    Have yet to play it, but from the screenies it appears to be one heckuva sniper-fest. maybe add some heavy displacements or rock models around the center for cover?

    Dox, its already made now yeah :p. im adding alot of "anit-snipe" stuff in atm. this is just the basic look of it. trust me. atm it looks ALOOOT better :) still needs alot of work :p

    my friend gave me this idea, to make some sortof tunnel underground. so theres more then one exit ^^ so yeah. needs alot of work. ill post some new screens tomorrow ^^

    It'll be hard to optimize unless you split the map in two, perhaps with mountains/caves in between? Look at ctf_aerospace for what Arhurt is going through trying to optimize his map.

    I think it could benefit from some winding underground tunnels. Just looking at the surface of the map would make any Sniper main drool, and a Pyro main cry.

    I dunno. For me, the weird awning thing on the front of each base ruins the look. Also, considering you stuck to a somewhat realistic look for the castles, the middle "bridge" structure seems out of place to me. If you do that, it might look better having mountains on either side there with the bridge in-between. Otherwise you might want to think about alternative solutions.
