What could be...?

    The reason for when I put 5th setup prop (models/props_gameplay/door_grate002_top.mdl), parented to a func_door, the map compiles just right but when I get to test it, the game crashes? It also crashes on a friend of mine. But if I take the prop out and just leave the func_door brush the game doesn't crash?

    I really, really appreciate your help. Thanks.

    EDIT: There are other 4 func_door and 4 props attached to them and they work just fine!

    sounds a lot like the game limitation on named lights. Just a hard coded limit that cant go any farther.

    I recommend just recreating the models/props_gameplay/door_grate002_top.mdl with brushes and call it good. May not be perfect, but it always works.

    edit: after looking at the model, its 7 brushes and 30 seconds with the vertex tool. just have have to find non-model textures that are close... I bet you could make yours look better than theirs anyways, its a very simple model

    i don't think i fully understand - on my map cp lumbermill i have about 12 prop dynamic door models parented to one func_door and they function no problem

    Yeah, there's no limit on doors (at least, that you should be reaching).

    I'm betting there's something really simple overlooked somewhere, maybe just needs a renaming or something simple like that. Prolly have to see the vmf to ferret it out though

    It isn't the names... and it isnt normal for a prop_dynamic to crash the game!... I've even added further stuff but if I get that prop_dynamic up, it crashes. Each prop_dynamic has it own func_door... and they are all setup doors.

    then its not the prop it the settings on it, try makeing it with out editing it
    see what happens

    No it doesn't.
    If I figure out what's wrong I will post here.
