Okay i have this map on my server: http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=6429

there is an issue I think would be simple to fix but have no idea how to do it.

the glass seperating the 2 intels is bulletproof and dissappears at round end (this is meant to happen) HOWEVER, the glass can be shot through with a sentry under manual control (the wrangler) how do i get around this? I have no idea how to get hammer working :/

Did you put a bullet block over top of the glass? In the texture selector, search in the filter, bullet block. An orange texture should appear and on the the texture it should say bullet block

    EDIT: Sorry its block bullet

I wouldn't modify the map without contacting its original author first. Tell him about the issue, and see if he wants to create another version which would fix the problem. If he doesn't, ask him if you can do it instead. Do not alter the map without the author's permission.

Oh, and one more thing - if you do gain permission to alter the map, make sure to compile it under a new version.

Seba i am way ahead of you on that one, author already contacted. And considering that the engineer update that created this bug has been out for ages, the author has not updated since b3.... and the only modification it needs is a bullet block inbetween the glass...

on another note... I have done this and compiled it but for some reason an error has come up and i see area portals and stuff around the map, did i compile incorrectly? Oh and im missing a few textures :( even though i decomiled from the original

decompiling breaks area portals, you will need to go to each one and make it a func_areaportal or a func_areaportal_window. The missing textures you will need to extract from the maps .bsp. You can do this with gcfscape.

Also, as a heads up. Decompiling a map without the Authors permission is a little bit on the "I wouldn't do it" side of the tracks.

Okay, having a look through hammer shows that it already has a blockbullets inbetween the glass panes, how on earth are the bullets getting through from a wrangled sentry? :<

How thick is the brush? I believe it sometimes needs to be at least 8 units width to block everything

Is there maybe properties in the block bullets that you can set no sentries?

i think it is as thick as you say... it stops everything apart from sentries under the wranger, whats more confusing is, if you are on the same side of the glass as the sentry it only hits people near the glass... However if your on the other side of the glass it shoots all the way through and hits the wall on the other side.
