I like the painterly style on this! The colors of crash and the background are fairly similar though, so he blends in a bit - perhaps you could find some kind of effect to make him stand out more? Or use a background from the blue side of the map.
You could possibly give crash a sort of silhouette, imagining that there's a bright light pointed on him from behind, above his head.
