After using this fucker for over a year (half the time taped together) I am sick of having to fix it every other week.

tl;dr recommend me some new headphones

    However, there are some rules

    1. Nothing over $80 (I will go up to $100 if I have to)
    2. Needs a built-in mic
    3. (Important) Needs to be very flexible to fit my fat head!

I tell ya what, I'm a big fan of sounding good headphones, and one thing that I do know is that these bad boys down below are some great ass headphones(if that's the style you're looking for). They have a great sound range(10Hz-28KHz) and the microphone is nice and flexible(also pull out in case you don't need it sometimes) along with a nice elastic headtop to super comfortability(just made that word up for this description).:O

Here is the link to the product: steelseries Siberia v2
They are: $89.99 but they will last you a long time(as long as you don't throw them on the floor constantly)
10 foot cord should be way more than plenty
Change the volume on the cord if need be.

Take a look over them and I'm sure you can't disagree that these won't be amazing! :p

I'm also kinda-sorta in the market, my Plantronics .audio 40's have been wearing away at their foam/fabric ear covers. :(

    Misc thoughts:
    • Regarding "fat head", there's definitely merit in either trying-before-you-buy, or picking from somewhere with a very good return policy.
    • I don't like those in-line blisters that let you control volume etc, ever since I had an otherwise-great Plantronics headset which kept having wiring connection problems there.
    • Aside: They have a good warranty/replacement policy.
    • If you wear glasses, certain types are automatically suspect and should be approached with caution. The only consistently-good headset has been the traditional over-the-head type, not the "behind the ears" type, etc.
    • WhyTF would I want a USB (rather than 3.5mm analog plug) set? Who actually sells those, I mean don't most computers have on-motherboard sound now-a-days, which is at least as good?

Are you looking for a headset or just a nice pair of headphones? Also, what price range are you looking into, that way we know what to keep it under.

My old HP (it was a 2005 model) had to headphone jacks (tower and moniter). I had my small cell phone head set, and around that, I had giant Bose headphones. Let me tell you, CSS with that setup, I could hear everything move.

I have a Sennheiser pc161 headset and frankly I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Great bass register, clear mid and high range, great quality mic too. Also, importantly it fits on my massive head and doesn't make my (rather large) ears uncomfortable like many headsets / pairs of headphones do.

I also use this. Great sound quality, very loud mic :p and they last for a LONG time. Had this set for about 2 years now.

yeah I was kind of surprised at the quality. You see, my mother broke my old headset while vaccuming (she ripped the wires out) and she promised to buy me a new one. So we headed to Best Buy and I saw those, they seemed relatively cheap, and they were Microsoft so I was just like "ok, whatever. At least the earpads are leathery." It turned out to be a really good headset!
