TF2 communities that run regular custom map tests

back in okrags era i remember ukcs doing regular tests, playstuff blueprints, cafe... now it all seems but a distant memory

or is it just that i am unaware

I do usually go on a brazilian pub server called Cavalaria Geek (tradution: Geek Cavalry) that usually runs several maps from here, such as Arctic, Edifice, Vitalism, Escarpment, Wildfire and does have some comp presence (really, there are about 15 people that play comp, both Highlander and 6v6).

Star's server runs customs in its map cycle, but it doesn't really do formal map tests, no.

yeah, it certainly feels like all the communities tf2maps knew have stopped doing them, after i went around to different communities asking if they might test our mvm maps and host them on thier servers i think there are plenty of places that would be up for testing that just dont right now.

I have plans on how to try and help us be a more inviting place for this stuff to happen but i've got a huge list of stuff to be getting through, hopefully we can start an open discussion on how to tackle specific points around this in a few months and get this outside testing rolling

There certainly are communities that would love to test custom maps by dozens but a lot of people are scared by the ton of work you have to do for a single map in TF2. Instead of focusing on story telling for example, you are going to balance the gameplay, make a good layout, test with players ...

We're in the process of converting our old Payload only server into a custom map server. Should be in up and running in time for the post-show game tonight.

I'd love to see some EU custom map servers.
I have my own private server hosted on my PC, with fastDL that's in denmark(or norway,I really don't know since it's from a friends webspace), but since my friends don't play TF2 anymore it's always empty, and since I played tf2 for so long it got boring to play on the official maps all the time :/

There's a server I know that does custom maps, though it rarely sees players. I think quickplay is to blame for the decline; it won't connect to servers running non-stock maps and as such less players tend to join custom map servers.

Ducksoup Gaming has the absolute best mix of custom maps I've ever seen. They have a robust voting system and a playerbase that enjoys customs. They are near capacity every evening, and do not kick players based on reserve slots.

Are there any good custom maps servers with sv_pure 0 outthere? In an effort to preserve some semblance of stylistic integrity in my TF2 I have a fuckton of item reskins, so playing in pure servers results in a painful abundance of checkerboards.
