    Ten's Collection of Gamemodes - Download now and you get 5!

    Since I prefer messing around with the I/O system instead of trying to actually make a full map, I amass little game modes that would work, but just don't have a full map to their name.


    Inside this zip are 5 different game modes that I came up with, and are fully functional barring some obscure bug I haven't noticed.

    An explanation for each gamemode can be found (here).


    Any opinions, critiques, or ideas are appreciated.

    These are cool but some stuff needs polishing,like changing "team that last capped" to something more reasonable in most cases.

    I noticed that for 8pl mod, the siren does not ring when pushing the cart to the point which was blue at the start
    EDIT: Also, the point is considered captured even when the cart rolls back to that point if you know what I mean

    But I think 8pl surely has great potential to be an interesting gamemode.

    That last team to cap really sounds like a placeholder imo.

    Do you mean the bo5 mode?
    If so, what would you suggest as alternative?

    The siren is I think hardcoded, I don't think I can remove it, but I don't feel like it is a massive problem in the first place.

    I'm not sure. This just doesn't really feel very fair, and I'm more talking about cpl. Maybe have cart healing neither team? Or the one to own/not own mid, thus having more points owned? I might be wrong.
    Really loved the lap-based pl. This is a great base for gsmemodes such as plr with a timer and laps.

    Well, I wanted to support the attacking team a little buff, to maybe stop just sitting around.

    I am surprised to hear that it is so liked, but I'll take it!

    I'm thinking of making a map with 8pl mode
    Circular map is pretty revolutionary u know

    Edit: Is there a way to display the score on player's hud?

    So if I let the cart roll back, it will roll back to capture points and score points.
    And it will roll past the capture point to score other point too.
    So as long as I keep it untouched as attacking team, it will score automatically.

    Edit: Ok I've done a little work to stop it. basically I disabled the road behind it as the point is captured. Same thing done in all the other pl maps

    The score of each team is shown on the scoreboard.
    The actual round score is overwritten by my system.

    Well, uhhh it was supposed to stop at the last point that was captured... woops.

    I tried that, and I gave up long ago.
    So I am using the scoreboard, sorry.

    What I would suggest for the 3ad mode is for teams to be awarded one point for capturing the mid control point, and if they manage to capture the other team's control point in the time allocated, they get an extra 1 or 2 points. This would mean that teams aren't punished for capturing mid if they are unable to capture the other team's control point. The way it is now could result in a situation where neither team wants to capture mid, as they are fearful that if they do, they will lose the round.

    While the current system isn't perfect, already getting a point for capping mid, and only getting a second point for last, could result in a situation where the attacking team doesn't bother attacking and thus wastes everyone's time.
    The map should be setup in such a way, that makes attacking far easier than defending, so neither team WANTS to defend.

    My gamemodes aren't particularly flawless.

    Regarding 8pl mod, I think the mod needs a custom payload model since moving the bomb around the map only to be left not exploded is kinda strange.

    Something like a payload with computer gadgets might be better IMO

    Well, I don't have a model like that, and the model of the payload is easily changed by the map maker.
    I just used the standard ones as a place holder.

    That's really not even a layout desicion, not speaking of gamemode design. Need one for lore, get one.
