I've recently compiled a map I'm working on for a beta release, and now I'm up to packing the custom content from the map into the bsp (I'm using CompilePal), however I'm stuck on how to do this. As when I select the vmf in CompilePal under Pack, it says compile instead of scan. I'm confused as to whether this will completely recompile my map or just pack it?

CompilePal is build as a compiling a packing tool all in one. It will completely recompile your map, as well as packing any custom content it finds in the map as well. You will need to build cubemaps in game after compiling it however.

if you only select the pack option, and the bsp is in the same folder as the vmf, you should be fine. just make sure vbsp, etc. are unticked.

So if the bsp is in a seperate folder, am I better off using something like VIDE or Pakrat?
