Respawn Room Problem

Followed the tut and done all the things needed, however, I have a couple of problems...

1) You ALWAYS spawn in the Red RS room, even if you are BLUE!! I have checked to make sure that func_respawn room shows RED team only...etc and the Blue one vice versa, yet you still only spawn in the Red room - AARRHH!!

2) How do you stop an enemy from shooting you through the 'no entry' baddie blocker?

check you have the info_player_teamspawn 's set to red and blue for the corresponding spawn rooms and not ANY.

As far as stopping people actually firing into the spawn room, there is a tools/toolsblockbullets texture but i havent used it or tied it to an enity yet so best wait for someone else that has used it

I don't think the respawnroomvisualizer will block bullets. That's why most maps use team-specific doors in combination with the visualizer.

Unless you used nodraw for the rest of the brush, blockbullets should be passable.

are the blue spawn entities fully off the ground, cuz if they their feet are touching, they will not spawn there.
try moving all the blue spawn entities up some

Maybe your filters are the problem? Is your source sdk set to Team Fortress 2? And like poopster says, maybe your blue spawns are the problem.

Filters fine and blue guys off the floor - still no joy......

....bugger and damnation!!!!

dang... would you mind posting the map file so we can actually look at it and find the problem? it might be something simple that another pair of eyes can find, without looking at the map itself all we can do is make vauge guesses.

If the blue guys are off the ground maybe theyre too high and in the ceiling? are the blue spawns set to spawn blue?

Dang is a good swear-pro-noun!!

The Blue guys are in the same place as the red guys - just off the floor - the trigger for the func_respawnroom is touching the floor, wall and ceilings of the rs room, and still no joy.........

.....also, just displaced the ceiling on one of the rooms, and now the map will not compile. No leaks, no prop_statics out side of the map etc - I even put the compile file through the site at Interlopers and there is nothing that should stop the map compiling......

So, not only do I have the spawn problem with the Blue team, I now have a map that will not even compile........

Jeez...........

First of all. Re-do map from scratch. Once you have your respawn rooms up if you are having the same problem upload the file so we can see it. I can tell you what your problem is.

Hi, I'm helping Nosh with the map (doing entities, "painting" etc) I can post a zipped VMF file if that's of any use?

Posting .vmf files are always welcomed. Easy to see whats wrong then explain how to/what we did to fix it.

I did not want to post the vmf to the public just yet - it isn't even in pre alpha stage!!
