Sometimes, I find a map with a double bz2 extension - like the following:

pl_clastic_heights_a20.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2

And cannot seem to extract it to get the bsp: pl_clastic_heights_a20.bsp

Any help would be appreciated, sorry for the ignorant question.

if it's pl_clastic_heights_a20.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2 then we have a problem

bz2 can usually be extracted with 7zip

I've downloaded three maps from here that are like that.....

1. pl_clastic_heights (listed above)
2. koth_mineland_v7.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2
3. pl_curve_rc4.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2

It's happened before (a month ago) and shrugged it off......but those are the three maps I just downloaded 30 mins ago, and that's how the download came to me from this site.

EDIT: a fourth and fifth one just now: koth_hanz_72_2.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2 and plr_frostfell_b1b.bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2

It only seems to be the maps with a bz2 extension......the zip and rar files all download fine.

... why is there 3 .bsp/.bz2 extensins on those?

Dunno, that's why I am asking...all the bz2 files I am downloading from this site, are showing up like that -- I am not changing the names or doing anything to them. Call this post a "bug report" if you want, I am trying to figure out how to either get it to stop doing that, or extract the file out of there successfully.

Can you give a link to the location at which you downloaded these particular maps?

The only clastic heights download I can find is this one and it works fine for me. Try just renaming the files so they end in one instance of .bsp.bz2 and see if they unzip.

From the downloads section of this site.... just do a search for whichever map (I provided the names in the OP)....

The only thing I can think is it's Chrome causing it? But i doubt it....as I am sure some of you out there are download using Chrome, right?
