Hi. I've registered here for a few weeks now (but been pretty silent), but since the site downtime a few days ago, my CSS themes for the whole website have refused to load. I've tried logging out and back in, changing the themes with both the User CP and the Quick Theme changer, but I still get unformatted text and stuff. I'm using Chrome. Anyone got any ideas why this isn't working?

it might be the browser acting upon the code.
I've heard chrome does have issues with DIV and CSS, but I haven't checked it out, mozilla is for me since I am a linux guy :D.
Also depends on the code used and depends on the sites character encoding.

Well, I just tried it with Firefox and got the same problem. So it seems to be localised to my computer [running Vista :(]. But that's odd, because it all worked fine a few days ago (I think the breaking coincided with the site being update).

Go to run, type %TEMP%, and delete all contents.

Also, try going to TF2Maps.net and pressing ctrl + F5

Well, I tried Anon's idea, and it didn't have any effect, so drpepper, could you please explain how to edit the host files?

The problem still persists. How do I edit the hosts file?

Go to Windows\system32\drivers\etc and open the file named hosts (no extension) with notepad.

At the bottom under the localhost line that should be there add:
    96.30.24.232 tf2maps.net

    Save the file.

For good measure to make sure it uses it I would also open the run dialog (WindowsKey+R) and enter cmd there. In the prompt window enter:
    ipconfig /flushdns

Then restart your browser and see if it fixed anything.

Unfortunately, I don't seem to have the privileges to do either of these, although this account has an administrator rights.

When attempting to save the hosts file, I was told that it could not create the file, and to check that the host and filename were correct. When trying ipconfig /flushdns, I was told that 'The requested operation requires elevation.'

My browser was closed during all of this. Anyway around this?

before you open the file, make sure its not set to read only.

The file is not set to read only, but the folder is. However, whenever I set the folder and contents to be not read only, it does so, but instantly sets them back to be read only. I'm sure I have the permissions to do this, but it won't let me. I am thus completely unable to edit the file, or create a new file at this location.

OK... I'd pretty much given up on this, but I logged on just now, and everything's magically fixed itself. So, yeah... dunno how it happened, but consider this issue resolved.
