Le Codex submitted a new resource:

Perks - Vote on a perk for your team in between each round of Arena

A project I have wanted to try for quite some time, it's Arena Perks!

Before each round of deathmatching over the central point, each team will have to choose one of 3 perks to gain, through voting. Simply step into the box of the perk you want to vote for to get a description and cast your vote for it.

Also a bit of training for level design in general. Using assets from the Frontline Pack.

Le Codex updated Perks with a new update entry:

New spawn

  • Remade the whole spawn area to funnel people more towards the point
  • Increased the health of skeletons
  • Fixed the Haste perk
  • Added the Precision perk
  • Added a display case to show previously chosen perks
  • Added "more bullets per shot" to the Ammo Reserve perk
  • Fixed the "wrong display" issue
  • Added a text display for the Second Chance perk, telling you if you still have it
  • Fixed some descriptions

Preparations for layout test

  • Reduced duration of the Cloaking perk
  • Made the instructions into a training annotation
  • Reduced the invulnerability time of the Revive perk
  • Made the description of perks show up when the game announces which perks have been chosen
  • Still don't know how to fix the Revive fails
  • Fixed the Quick Fingers display prop being rotated
  • Put the death trap for people coming during a round into a separate room
  • Clipped the semi-circle stairs to make going up from the sides...

Overdue update

  • Buffed the Ammo Reserve perk by giving it +50% clip size
  • Nerfed the Revive perk by giving it -75 max health on revive
  • Increased the time at the end of setup where the choices are displayed to everyone
  • Clipped/blockbulleted a few areas
  • Buffed Skeletons health
  • Fixed wrongly oriented particle effects for the Precision perk

Can you check now? The website has had some issues with downloads recently. If it doesn't work, there's now the Workshop link too ^^

Will the gamemode(?) ever be released as something for other mappers to use?
It's not really a gamemode imo, I conider it more like a self contained idea within this map. Chaging the layout won't affect the core gimmick that much in my opinion. The Vscript is freely available inside the BSP, but it does require a lot of stuff being setup inside the map, which is also why I don't really consider this a modular gamemode (a lot of things are hardcoded).

So, long story short, probably not
