If you guys like these, I can upload. Or you can just save target as and open in photoshop and make your own vtf and vmt. I took a few stocks and changed some grunge aspects and colors. I was really going after a red block since the blu block was already in there and no red to match, but I just went ahead and made some other base stuff too. Some of them are close to stocks with slight mods but the red one there is nothing like it in game so you might find that one useful.

How much more new stuff did you add to them other than the obvious colour shifts?

Well, before I upload them I may need to tweak them. What I have noticed is that, for whatever reason, the vmf files are a tad darker and more nuetral then the photoshop files. What causes that, does anybody know?

Also, there are no bumps for these. The stock textures I got these from don't have one either.

One other thing I am trying to tweak is to make all the grey bases textures blend together. Right now, if you had 3 walls on top of each other, you could see how one texture with the top grunge is different from the other two and vise versa. I am going to try and make it so you could use them together and they will blend right in. Hard to do though.

Main thing though is to find out why saving as a vtf is changing the darkness and hue just a tad bit.

That color change is most likely happening because your PNG has colorspace and gamma info in it that the viewer is using; the VTF has none of that.

In VTFEdit, there's a flag to enable saving the sRGB colorspace... might give it a try... (assuming you convert the images to sRGB in Photoshop or whatever paint program you used)

Yeah, at least release the red.

As far as stacking. Putting the 'dirty bottom' on top of the 'drippy top' to make them align would llok crappy anyway because there wouldn't be a dirty/drippy line in middle of wall. That's what the plain tex is for.

But the red is a great addition as there isn't one at all. A matching solid red wall would be awesome.

Part of texturing is being able to combine the dirty tops with the neutral middles and the dirty bottoms together to make a wall look good. Sometimes this requires stacking separate brushes, but that's just life. I wouldn't put too much effort into trying to blend them, that's why there are 3 in the first place
