Player spawns are a little funny.
First make sure you are using "info_player_teamspawn"
Second, the spawn can't be touching any brushes or props. Move it a few units above the floor and you'll be good to go.
He said compile errors...
Copy your compile log and paste here: http://www.interlopers.net/errors
it will say what's wrong with your map.
this may be stupid but where is the compile log?
oh i see it its when u test ur mapNot a stupid question at all! Every time you compile a map, it shows you a little progress report of where it is in the compile stage (like calculating light bounces). After it's done compiling, it won't close that dialogue- you need to close it yourself. At the base of that window, there's a button: Copy to Clipboard. Hit that button, then just paste in a post. You should see all the stuff that was in that dialogue show up.
Alternatively, you can look into your steam folder, and navigate to the folder steam\steamapps\<ACCOUNT NAME>\sourcesdk_content\tf\mapsrc
Look for <mymapname>.log, like for example, ctf_pipedream_a1.log. Open that up and copy+paste everything from the last
materialPath: c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<ACCOUNT NAME>\team fortress 2\tf\materials
Loading c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<ACCOUNT NAME>\sourcesdk_content\tf\mapsrc\<MAP NAME>.vmf
and down, using whatever your paths are, of course.
