Probably the only thing it has to do with Valve is the fact that if a community map is made from this new locale, they'll make the new locale official. Sure, I'm an idiot for being naive to think that tf2maps.net was another outlet for Valve's announcements. There was one instance where that was the case, but it's just silly of me for thinking Valve would continue to do so.

You know... You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan." Even if the plan is horrifying! If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan." In my defence though, it really really looked like a TF2maps mod or other higherup was using some executive privilege to show off a project. If it's something totally new and cool, you might want to make it seem that way. Most professional developers look obnoxious teasing something. It's like that metal gear site all over again.
