koth_urban_a1 - A very poorly untextured, open king of the hill map.

My first attempt at a map. It is poorly textured but hopefully functional as a fluent game experience.

My bad

Some things I've found:

  • Map name doesn't match with file name
  • There's no ligh_environment in your map, resulting in fullbright. Fullbright stays on map change so it's better to avoid it.
  • Your skybox is really low, jumping soldiers and demomen can bump their head easily
  • This trigger is linked to the wrong cabinet prop
  • You can die in spawn changing classes if you stand in this doorway (just extend the trigger)
  • Your displacements have six sides, make sure you only have one face of a brush selected when creating displacements
  • There's an issue with your gameplay logic, I dumped my console output here

General layout and scaling feels very good, well done

lots of maps in their alpha stage start poorly textured u know, its the stage mainly focused on gameplay and also testing.

I expect they know if they're giving feedback. But they didn't even mention the textures, so why did you say that?

If a fullbright map gets played on a server, mat_fullbright var will not get reset for any maps that go after it, it will usually require a server restart. Hosts, I imagine, will typically refuse to run these maps, TF2M testing servers are no exception.
Besides, it looks really bad on eyes. Even the most basic environment lighting + some lamps in the interior will make it feel much better... and yes, playable. So definitely focus on it.
