How to modify a .bsp? Is it even possible?

I basically want to remove some clip brushes from a compiled map. Is this possible without decompiling the map?

Without starting a big discussion or debate.... I'm trying to find a way to allow the Demoman to lob nades over the last CP in Dustbowl (from CP over the roof to the next alley)... you know... the one that Valve blocked off with clip brushes last patch.

is it possible to decompile a map to use as a reference?
see here - http://tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=16 its already been done
Remember kids, reusing bits of Valve's maps (or maps made by anyone else) is wrong and posibly illiegal (not entirely sure about various laws)
So never copy something straight from it. Look at it by all means, study it, live by it, use it as a bible(or loo roll if you take offence at the idea of using it as a bible) but don't copy and paste it!

i wasnt going to copy anything, just look at it to see how other ppl do things in hammer :p

and i already saw that thread, but ut didnt say anything about how to do it yourself, and Valves maps are overly complicated, especially w/ all of the event wall things everywhere :D

The decompiling tools don't give an accurate impression of how people make thier maps, sure they have all the right stuff, in all the right places but you cant guarentee that the decompiler hasn't cut a brush up in a funnr way that is totally unessecery. But generally they are damn handy to have.

I think the one most people use is Vmex. and it needs the java runtime stuff. Not looked at it too hard really
