How do i recover my map??? it autosaved mid crash and i have no backup but i have the BSP

I spent 3 weeks on this map i cant give up on my child(map)

PS i cannot load the map file hammer just dies

You don't have a backup?!

If you have the bsp, it can be decompiled for an imperfect recreation of the vmf at time of compiling.

Do you have a .vmx file? you can copy and rename it to the .vmf, otherwise you will need to decompile the bsp. This is a good time to turn autosave on

Holy crap it worked i got so lucky! how do i turn autosaves on?!?
