hahah oh yeah back then that already looked stupid but now you can wear even more unfitting crap

in pic:
Frying Pan
Chargin' Targe
Bounty Hat
Dangeresque, Too?

what you could wear now:
Nessie's Nine Iron
Splendid Screen (with Arrow)
Bootlegger
Tavish DeGroot Experience
Dangeresque, Too?

I think that's the dumbest possible but I'm open to suggestions! maybe Reggaelator and Pickled Paws instead

My current demoman setup is

Earbuds, Dangeresque, Bounty Hat, Bootlegger, Splendid Screen and Persian Persuader

It is so bad.

Someday I'd like to know how Valve decided on the Demoknight in the first place. Was it due to a lack of other ideas for how to improve his direct-combat abilities? Lack of ideas for items period? Or was it because they felt he was overpowered and wanted to discourage people from playing him in the usual way in general?

Maybe they wanted there to be a melee-only class that people would actually be willing to play as. And the Demoman class fit the specs the most, what with his head-taking sword and Chargin' Targe.

The Tavish Degroot Experience at least fits the time period (late 1960s) and isn't particularly flashy.

Treasure chest hat is ridiculous no matter how you justify it. I think a HOUWAR probably takes the cake for over-the-top silliness however.

what flame war, a lot of new items look even sillier so I'm trying to find a demopan 2.0

Guess you're right ya, the Experience hat is just a bad model/skin, especially the hair, but that one does take the cake
