I'm Sonia! I don't have a lot of experience working on maps, but I figure I should at least introduce myself. I've very little experience with game development- I made a short, two-level tech demo of a 2D platformer, and a single level for a 3D platformer- which I never finished, and lost the source files to. I also mess around with stuff like VRChat on occasion, but Unity can bite me.
I've been trying to find ways to slowly kindle some experience working on the kinds of content I'd need to create to make a game without committing to the whole 'making a game' bit. I've always been a huge fan of TF2, and TF2 Classic's new update has really reinvigorated my passion for it. 4-Team is a kind of chaos I greatly enjoy. I figure I may as well try and make a few maps for it. No idea if I'll even finish one with my kinds of ADHD, but I'm trying to stay optimistic...! Also a big fan open fortress' gameplay, but that's more because I like schmovement.
I'd also be happy to try and port some classic maps over to tf2c (maybe even as 4-team maps), but I need to actually learn the tools first. I've got hammer open on my other monitor, begging me to start, but the tutorial I was following mentioned this place out, and if it's a resource I'm going to be using, I may as well get my account all set up. I also set up VSCode for vscript, so perhaps eventually I'll try and make something more complex.
As a fun way to wrap this up (and make a fool of myself given how new to this I am)- my current long-term ambition is to eventually make a sort of competitive MvM mode, inspired by Gambit from Destiny. 2 teams of humans, 2 teams of bots. I'd also like to work on something akin to 4-team passtime, but I reckon something that complex is a lifetime away. I'd better get going on learning the basics and making a debut map before I go stumbling into a million projects I can't complete...!
