Bought Mass Effect (after the discussion here), only to find out my card doesn't support it. Its an ATI X800 XT. The minimum Bioware states you need is a ATI X1300 XT, and so browsing for a new card I came across this:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8761878&type=product&id=1202650704648

Question: How does that card compare with the X1300 XT? I haven't kept current with the tech because I wasn't going to build a new rig for a year or two more, and since I last did it the naming systems have grown to include more than the 9*** series and X*** series.

Anyways, thanks for the help.

I would buy NVIDIA 8800 GT or 9800 GT. I don't like ATIs, I burned one once while playing a shitty game.

Maybe, but are either of those cards on sale for $80? Also, I've never had an issue with any ATI card I've used.

8800 GT 180 - 200 €

9800 GTX 250 €

NVIDIA is better imo, for 80 $ I would buy a 8600
