Funky - Experimental layout 3: Extreme steepness

This is the third map out of my experimental layouts series. In these maps I'm trying different crazy ideas and see how they work. If they feel natural, at least pretty fun and they actually make the gameplay feel different, I will finish the map eventually. This is also my first payload map

Here, basically the entire map is set only on big ~30-degree slopes.

Overall:
  • Decreased setup time by 15 seconds
  • Improved clipping
  • Added more cover and area to places
  • Adjusted some geometry
  • Made several changes that are too minor to be mentioned

Stage 1:
  • Expanded and slightly changed the cliff flank by the first point
  • Adjusted spawn times

Stage 2:
  • Added pickups
  • Slightly redesigned the platform in the building by the first point

Overall:
  • Started providing changelog in the menu photos
  • Inverted the order of stages
  • Changed some geometry to support the life of defending team
  • Adjusted health and ammo packs
  • Adjusted spawn times
  • Fixed round timer being increased when cart rollbacks to a captured point

New Stage 1:
- Redesigned first half of the map

New Stage 2:
- Changed entrances to RED flank building by the last point to make them more noticeable

OVERALL:
  • Decreased timer length by 2 minutes
  • Fixed timer not increasing upon capturing a point
  • Added a custom-texture info box on both stages

STAGE 1:
  • Redesigned BLU start area
  • Removed cave flank in the connector building
  • Flattened the area around the first control point
  • Expanded flank building interior
  • Heavily changed/adjusted some geometry
  • Adjusted spawn times

  • Decreased setup length by 5 seconds
  • Made many changes that are too minor to be mentioned

STAGE 1:
  • Slightly expanded area around the first control point
  • Redesigned RED spawn to support defendability of the last control point
  • Adjusted some geometry

STAGE 2:
- Fixed RED not having spawn points on this stage at all

OVERALL:
  • Visually overhauled the whole map
  • Adjusted most indoor areas' geometry
  • Made many changes that are too unimportant to be mentioned

STAGE 1:
  • Shortened the cart track and changed map geometry with it
  • Added more cover for BLU in some places
  • Simplified RED spawn top exit
  • Adjusted health and ammo packs
  • Adjusted spawn times and spawn points
  • Fixed cart being jiggly in the HUD
