Valve is depreciating hats. First they put them in crates, now this? Ok maybe this isn't so bad, but seriously VALVE? CRATES?!

And now thanks to the update, I can craft my Ellis hat and Alien Swarm Parasite and get a free hat I might actually like or at least be able to trade.

Besides, Ellis' cap looks barely better than the parasite and the gibus, and the frying pan isn't an equalizer or a pain train.

EDIT: I stand corrected, the frying pan also replaces the demo's bottle.

I'm pretty sure you can't craft the promotion hats and Bill's hat is going for like 3-4 vintage hats sometimes, I'm pretty sure Ellis' will fetch the same price in a year, I really wouldn't recommend wasting your event hats like that, if you could :/

Well, it's a moot point so far, because for some reason I haven't gotten either item yet. Also, pretty much everybody owns or is going to get Left 4 Dead 2 so I doubt they're ever going to be very valuable.
