Maybe a bump in the track that knocked it loose? isn't that a prop_physics or something? I've never dealt with payload before, so i'm not too familiar with it.

I've had the cart fly off the side of the cliff on Upward.
Needless to say, I have no clue what happened.

It's damn hard to get the cart to derail, too. I've had it get hit by a train before and be relatively okay.
