env_sun in TF2 maps?

    Possibly a dumb question but the title says it all. I've looked around in the decompiled valve maps using entity report but couldn't find the env_sun, does TF2 use it? Or if not, how does valve get the sun then?

    It does use it. I dont know if all maps have them but im sure goldrush has it (as i searched in that map how they did it - and found it)

    Btw, many maps have a sun made in the skybox texture already.

    HDR generally voids the needs of env_sun.

    Also, one of the TF2 maps (can't remember which) actually uses a sun prop. Search for "sun" in the model browser, you can't miss it.

    Ah ok, I'm using the gravelpit skybox so I'm guessing it won't need one anyway since the sun is partially hidden behind clouds.

    Dustbowl uses a prop for the sun.
