Dustpile - 7 months in the can!

Dustpile is my first attempt at using Hammer and creating a level, not just for TF2, but in general. Designing this map was fun, but considering the time it took me to reach alpha version 1 (7 months!), I'm now curious about players' feedback on the map.

The map follows a standard layout seen in classic KOTH maps (Viaduct, Lakeside, Badlands, Lazarus).

I hope this map will provide an entertaining experience for playtesters!

Alpha 2 Update

Thanks to everyone who playtested koth_dustpile_a1!​

Changelog:​

  • Increased the map size to feel less tight (~1400 HU)
  • Rescaled map brushes using the 8 and 16 grids
  • Added some displacements
  • Closed off the "dustpile" pit to prevent Demo players from shooting grenades without being seen
  • Replaced some light entities with light_spot entities
  • Removed tunnel access to the water room
  • Relocated cameras

Alpha 3 Update

Thanks to everyone who playtested koth_dustpile_a2!​

Changelog:​

  • Control point has been modified to looks like less a Lakeside copypaste
    • Now has a battery-form
  • Major rework for flanks
  • Remove the "waterroom" nearby the control point as nobody used it during a1 and a2
    • Big medpack was removed and not relocated
  • Added more player clip
  • Added more rocks props
  • Central building has been reworked and...
