Agreed. I'd definitely go for a more accurate, but less powerful minigun. It'd still be the same basic gun though.

And there might just be servers with custom stats weapons enabled and some where it's disabled.

I doubt it. I remember at one point people were suggesting that Valve add a console command to disable unlockable weapons, but they thought it would be a bad idea considering people did work for their unlockables back then and earned them. The same could be said for crafts. That out of the way, Valve will most likely not implement new weapons.

There's probably a limited number of things we can craft out of the bat, and none of them will be surprises.

Someone will rummage through the game files for all the crafting details and spill them out on a forum.

I doubt it. Seeing as people haven't figured out drop rates through any other means than analysis, all this item stuff is being processed on the Steam servers.
