cp_stargazer_a1 - My first attack/defend map! Hope ya like it!

A simple, single stage attack defend map. This is my first go at an attack/defend map, so please tell me what I could improve!

Plot:
BLU has setup a small communications facility connected to their satellites. In response to this, RED have made an even bigger facility to hijack BLU's satellite for their own uses. Luckily for BLU, RED have left vital equipment outside of their headquarters. BLU must capture these points to regain their satellites!

These updates are small changes that I personally felt like doing, I probably won’t make many more before I get some more feedback on the map, so if you have ideas, let me know!

-Updated clipping in BLU spawn and near B
-Updated texture alignment
-Increased capture area for B
-Moved the staircase leading to the balcony near B
-Added boxes to the staircase leading to the balcony near B
-It now takes only 10 seconds to capture B
-Updated background scenery
-Changed metal bar texture on a wall...

Changes:

-Moved B closer to the main platform
-After BLU captures A, their respawn time will be decreased by 3 seconds

Major B changes!

I decided to make some changes to B, to hopefully make it more balanced.

So, here are the changes!

-Pushed RED spawns back
-Added a roof and pillars to B
-Updated a bit of clipping on a box
-Moved the B point sign to the back wall of B, rather than the ramp.
-Added a medium ammopack next to the metal wall on the platform in front of B

-Added glass to the window in the RED building in front of BLU spawn
-Made the pillars for the small platform of that building 32x32 units
-Added a sign to the out of bounds room in BLU spawn
-Added a clip to the metal wall

(btw I think I broke the navmesh, I might make another update for that).

Some relatively small but nice changes, I guess.

Here are the changes:

-Added an ammopack to the RED building in front of BLU to encourage people to go near the window.
-Lowered the capture zone of both capture zones.
-Added areportals to spawn doors.. (Hopefully they work!)
-Removed clipping on the metal wall next to B.

-Removed areaportals on doors because they were quite buggy
-Added some of containers to the flat area to block sightlines and make the area more interesting

Hi

I took a little look around your map; For the most part the layout is quite good with sightlines remaining mostly reasonable. Very much a respectable first Attack/Defend map.

There were a couple things that I noticed whilst play-testing;

1; At point A you can stand on this ledge above the point, this doesn't offer much of a tactical advantage however.

1.1; Additionally at point A you are able to capture/block it from behind the same structure.

2; The sightlines at point B are kind of a nightmare for RED with BLU having full sight towards almost all 3 spawn doors from any of the indicated vantage points/spots. Adding a few props or semi-high walls to interrupt these would help balance last a little more.

All in all; Quite a good, short n' sweet Attack/Defend map, everything is sealed off and the map layout is solid. Nicely done!

First of all, thank you VERY MUCH!
I'm glad to get feedback for the map! I've basically just made changes because I felt like it without much reasoning, so having some feedback is extremely appreciated. I'm already getting ideas.

I'm glad to know what needs changing, and also what I got right!
Overall, thanks for the feedback, as soon as I finish writing this I'll get on Hammer and start doing some work!

Thanks to Average Tiddy Goth GF for a bunch of feedback, which this newest update has used a lot of!

Here are the changes:

-Properly clipped the big A wall.

-You can no longer cap from behind the big A wall.

-Added a bunch of walls and props to block sightlines from the upper areas near B to block sightlines to the RED spawn doors. (It looks a bit weird and confusing right now but it should be ok.)

It is an update about boxes.

-Changed the pile of boxes near B to a large container, a small part of which can be entered, with a medium ammopack inside. The container also has some crates next to it to help you get on top of the container.

-Widened the wall next to the small RED spawn exit.

RED Spawnroom Update! (Alpha 6)!

Big update here!
The changes are as follows:

-Completely revamped RED’s spawnroom to make every entrance connected and make it less overly large. I also added a little out of bounds room in the spawn similar to BLU’s spawn.

-Shortened the wall near the RED side spawnroom.

-Changed the A platform texture to the metal texture seen on the B platform.

-Moved the small health and ammopack combo by the stairs leading up to the B sniping spot closer to the boxes.
